Psychotherapy in Auckland

Therapy for anxiety depression relationship difficulties trauma Auckland

Kia ora! My name is Lea and I am a registered psychotherapist based in Auckland. I offer in-person psychotherapy in Devonport and Takapuna, and online therapy across Aotearoa New Zealand, for adults seeking reflective, depth-oriented therapy and counselling.

You may be feeling anxious, low, or internally unsettled. You might notice patterns in relationships that repeat despite your best intentions, or a sense that something in your life no longer fits. Often, people come to therapy not only with symptoms, but with questions about who they are becoming. Psychotherapy offers a confidential, steady space to slow down, and to begin making sense of your inner experience in a different way.

My approach is integrative and grounded in relational and psychodynamic psychotherapy, with attention to how early experiences and attachment patterns continue to shape relationships in the present. Together, we attend to thoughts, emotions, memory, and bodily experience, including conscious and unconscious dynamics that shape how you relate, protect, and long. We also remain curious about how your ways of coping that once made sense may now feel limiting or constraining.

As the work deepens, many people experience a greater sense of emotional steadiness and a clearer understanding of themselves. Therapy can support the capacity to remain with complex feelings, to recognise previously unseen patterns, and to respond with greater freedom and intention. Over time, this may allow for relationships that feel less driven by repetition, and more shaped by choice.

If you are considering psychotherapy, you are welcome to get in touch to arrange an initial 15-minute consultation. This is an opportunity to talk about what is bringing you to therapy, and to get a sense of whether working together feels like a good fit.
